A New Place

Men of Edwards Hall,

This blog is for you. It is about you. It is by you.

I want this blog to be a place where stories are told. Pictures and videos are shared. And conversations take place. So if you have a story, picture, video, or conversation you feel should be shared, let me post it for you!

Since none of you are here yet... Let me share my first Edwards story to start us off.

Sara (my wife) and I got back to Abilene from Vacation late Tuesday night. We were planning to start moving into Edwards early Wednesday morning. We pulled into the Edwards parking lot about 12:30AM to unload a few things from our vacation before going back to spend out last night in McKinzie. To our surprise we saw 2 teenage boys through the side door as we walked up. When we opened the door we were surprised to see 10 teenagers and one college student (we'll call him Bob) hanging out in the lobby. I just assumed they were part of one of the camps so we just said hello and kept walking past them towards our apartment. When I got to the door Bob asked what I was doing so I responded, "I'm taking this into my apartment." The teenagers immediately died laughing and Bob turned 10 shades of red. He had been living in our empty apartment for the last week! Apparently he thought he could take the room of his choice after they issued him a master key. As we dropped our bags off he apologized 20+ times as Sara and I just laughed at the awkward situation.

So gentlemen, in light of this story remember the words of Jesus, "When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, 'Give this man your seat.' Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, 'Friend, move up to a better place.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Blessings friends,
Jordan Bunch
